I just love to paint tulips, they seem to tell me that the winter is coming to and end! Here is #2 of the yellow and red spring tulip series.

Today it surely was a sunny pre-spring day. Well, I cannot really say spring has arrived in Atlantic Canada yet,

but it surely is on its way, with more and more birds singing in the trees and snow melting into puddles everywhere.

I want to apologize for not yet having posted the promised paint-along video, as 

I have trouble figuring out my Mac's iMovie program for editing. If you can help me out here, please 

drop me a line! The painting is painted and here it is... the video will follow as soon as

I figure out how to use the software..

Ich liebe es, Tulpen zu malen, sie erinnern mich daran, dass der Winter bald zu Ende sein wird! Darum heute die zweite Tulpe in der Serie.

Heute war ein sonniger Vorfrühlingstag. Naja, ich kann nicht sagen, dass der Frühling schon eingekehrt ist 

an Kanada's Ostküste- siehe Foto, aber er ist definitiv doch schon auf dem Vormarsch, mit täglich mehr Vögeln, die in den Bäumen singen und Schnee der in Rinnsalen sich in Pfützen sammelt.

Ich möchte mich entschuldigen fuer die Verspätung des versprochenen Mal-mit-mir Videos. Ich habe Probleme mit dem iMovie 

Programm auf meinem Mac. Irgendwie kapier ich das nicht... falls du mir helfen kannst, bitte schick mir ne kurze email!

Das Aquarell ist fertig gemalt, hier ist es- die versprochene Paprika- und das Video kommt, sobald es ge-edited ist- versprochen!

Every Year I'm itching to buy some tulips to paint. I just love tulips, they tell me that the winter here in Canada is coming to an end soon. And as I look out the window, I see still about 1.5 meters or so of snow and small mountains of ploughed-high snow piles in the parking lots and drive ways. But the sun is getting stronger by the day, I can feel it and the snow is melting away, even at below freezing temperatures.
Now, back to the tulips, my first bunch I bought and set to work as a march break treat. Here's my first...

Painting with kids: my set-up at the Lego table

Jedes Jahr freue ich mich Tulpen zu malen. I liebe Tulpen, sie sind ein Zeichen dass selbst der Winter hier in Kanada bald zu Ende sein wird. Und wenn ich aus dem Fenster schaue, sehe ich doch noch 1.5m Schnee und kleine Berge von geschipptem Schnee nahe Parkplätzen und Einfahrten. Aber die Sonne wird nun täglich kraftvoller, ich kann es fühlen wenn ich draussen bin, und der Schnee schmilzt langsam aber sicher weg, auch bei Minustemperaturen. 

Nun, zurück zu meinen Tulpen, mein erstes Bündel habe ich vor ein paar Tagen gekauft und sogleich zum Malen angefangen. Hier meine erste Tulpe dieses Jahr...

after visiting the florist section in the supermarket, i just couldn't help but pick up some tulips- they were poking their little heads out of the wrappers kind of saying: please give me a good home- so i just couldn't resist;-)

as it is 'daycare day' for my kiddies, i chopped away on some need-to-be-done items of my 'bottomless to-do-list' (aka: eat a frog a day) and then rewarded myself with some

painting time- those wonderful fresh smelling tulips-

their crisp white edges and bright red veins in contrast with the fresh green of the nodding leaves are so invigoration!

while painting i listened in on some recordings of the artists helping artists radio show which is super informative for art related business advice. thank you Saeta and Dreama for sharing your knowledge! just hung up with a friends- one recovering from an operation and one talking about guys... i am so thankful for my health, my wonderful family and all the goodness the lord brings into my life every day, may he touch you today in a special way, too!
